Just In Time: Peet’s Holiday Blend
I was in my local Peet’s over the weekend, and I was so excited to see that Peet’s Holiday Blend is back.
Each year, Peet’s Holiday Blend is crafted anew from outstanding crops that exemplify the best of the best for the year.
This year, Peet’s is bringing Tres Rios, Costa Rica, home. Tres Rios is nestled close to the capital of San Jose, encircled by urban development, this region is fast disappearing, but has long been renowned for producing some of the finest and most distinctive coffees in Costa Rica.
The coffees of Tres Rios have a broad flavor, rich buttery consistency, and dependable sweetness. Bold, smooth and aromatically forward, this year’s crop forms the heart of Peet’s Holiday Blend, which is blended with a few other Peet’s favorites to complement the cup, yielding a vintage that’s complex and full flavored with warm spice notes.
Holiday Blend is available in limited quantities through December or while supplies last. It’s also available in decaf and gift boxes. Get some now at your nearest Peet’s, or to buy online, click here.

I’m all in favor of big corporations that donate to worthy causes. Even in tough times, it’s nice to see people giving back. While I’m not a huge fan of Starbucks approach to business (put every Mom & Pop coffee shop out of business), I am a fan of their recently-launched campaign to raise money for [...]
I have to admit I’m a bit intimidated by all the coffee drink possibilities. While I pretty much tend to stick to what I know, I do like to learn about all the other options available.
Here’s my Coffee Drink cheat sheet:
Americano: A single shot of espresso with about 7 ounces of hot water added to the mix.
Black coffee: A [...]
